Marc Spurgin, Outdoor Curator, Brighton Jetty Sculptures. (BJS)

As Outdoor Curator for BJS, Marc must first immerse himself in the theme of the artworks; he then selects works that communicate with one another, positioning the artworks to create a visual and conceptual dialogue, to keep the exhibition dynamic, introducing contrast through varying artistic styles, periods or mediums.

Marc makes decisions about where the sculptures are displayed and how they should be seen; working behind the scenes to progress the way the audience experience, understand and view the BJS sculptures, to better appreciate the artworks.

Marc has curated the Outdoor Sculptures for the last 3 years, creating a visual feast for all to enjoy! Previously Marc has participated both as an official judge and an exhibiting artist.

Marc is himself an award-winning metal sculpture artist and creator, with a self-taught background who has achieved international status.

Having exhibited extensively, Marc’s work is currently exhibited and on display at the D’Arenberg Cube.

Marc is proud to be the Outdoor Curator, an Ambassador and Artist for South Australia’s largest outdoor exhibition, Brighton Jetty Sculptures.

Linda O’Grady, Indoor Curator, Brighton Jetty Sculptures. (BJS)

Upon graduating from Edinburgh College of Art with a BA (Hons) in Illustration and painting, Linda was exhibited in the 1993 BP Portrait Award at the National Portrait Gallery in London, and has exhibited and sold her work across the UK since then.

In 2013 she moved, with her family, from Scotland to Adelaide, where she has continued to show new work on various platforms and work on commissioned portraits. Linda joined the Brighton Jetty Sculptures committee in 2016, and as well as being a sponsor creating all graphic design work, she has grown her ability in the capacity of indoor Curator from assisting to curating the 2 large marquees containing all indoor and wall hung sculptures. Taking a break during covid, Linda was excited to be able to show her own 3d work - a new direction for her.

Being able to share her creativity and passion in this curatorial role gives her great satisfaction - a Brighton local herself, being part of a volunteer team of dedicated members is a great way to give back to the community she loves, and thrives in.
